WUSauce, consisting of 20 members and a smaller 10-person competition team, was founded in 2004. The team hosts an annual Dance-Off competition on campus that attracts an audience of over 300 students and community members. This performance marks WUSauce’s transition from being a performance team to a competition team.
The Chicago International Salsa Congress is a 4-day event featuring international live music, workshops, and performances. It attracts between 1500 and 2500 attendees each day. Admission to the Emerging Artist Showcase competition requires auditioning, and the winner performs alongside professional dance teams at the Saturday evening showcase.
